The Skimmer slowed down and reached a stop 100 yards from the tunnel entrance. Before them was a large mound atleast thirty feet high with a entrance on the ground level and one at the top of the mound. Each opening was thriteen foot high and thirteen foot wide, big enough for warriors and workers to rush out in pairs.
There were no guards, no sentries. Just before their arrival Lt Dallas heard chatter over the all-unit channel, everyone got hit. More importantly, everyone got hit by bugs far smaller than normal and in much smaller groups than normla- except for Wescott who was slammed with a dozen plus of the small sized bugs.
The tunnel system seemed to be normal as far as arachnid structures go as seen from the outside, but once the pitch black tunnel was entered things got strange. The floor, walls and ceiling were covered in a strange white fuzz and clear gel. This had been seen before, but in small patchs in isolated chambers- not everywhere. The Lt used his hand to scrape some off the wall, when he did so he revealed a decaying human skull- no flesh and something had been gnawing at the bones. Upon closer inspection the fuzz was growing on dead things, either human corpses or chunks of dead arachnids.
Bandit seemed nervouse, almost scared. "I can't count them." Is all the animal was able to say. His owner felt his fear. "Small, gut alot of them."
The Devil Dogs marched in a loose formation, carefull of their fotting due to the goo on the floor. Even with their amplified hearing they couldn't hear any bugs screatching. Several parts of the beginning tunnel looked unstable, obvuisley this tunnel was attacked during the last campaign.
Every few steps a maggot about a foot long and three inches thick is found squirming around. They have no means of attack and the heel of a troopers boot almost seems like overkill for them.
((Conditions))
The Tunnels are very unstable, high chance for collapse.
Chance for encounter against scarred worker bugs is very very high, only in groups 5. Like the other ones encountered they are half the size as normal.
Chance for warrior bugs is moderate, three warriors and three workers in this group.
All the workers are hesitent to attack, almost like they would rather run away,
Warrior bugs, though small, charge upon sight like a berzerker.
Small chance of a tanker bug. The tanker bug would be the size of a cow, and its shell would seem almost see through. Its flame would only exstend about 15 feet.
((Anyone figured out what is going on yet?))
